Kurma dasa has just celebrated 50 years as an initiated disciple of ISKCON Founder Acharya His Divine Grace A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Kurma dasa was one of the first batch of 16 devotees initiated in Australia on 10 May 1971.
In the half-century since then Kurma dasa has gone on to perform many services as a ‘quote-unquote’ ‘footsoldier’ in the sankirtana Movement of Lord Caitanya, especially those services in relation to the kitchen, such as writing his famous cookbooks, teaching cookery classes around the planet, and writing his famous Biographical/History of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada in Australia called 'The Great Transcendental Adventure'. Kurma dasa and his wife Dhira Lalita devi dasi currently reside in a small cottage in the woods in The Republic of Ireland. Date: 20 May (Thursday) at 10 AM EDT, 7:30 PM IST, 3 PM UK & IRELAND |
